Industrial Vacuum Cleaner - Type H Models

Many machines in the BVC range are available as type H for handling dusts that are hazardous to health such as Asbestos and Silica.

What is a type H vacuum cleaner?

A type H vacuum cleaner is designed to collect dusts that are hazardous to health and prevent these dusts returning to the atmosphere. The Type H has the best filtration performance of any vacuum cleaner classification given in BS EN 60335-2-69

The classifications (L, M & H) filtration levels and applications are as follows :-

L       Minimum permitted filtration efficiency 99%
Suitable for collecting dusts with an occupational exposure limit of greater than 1 mg/m3
M       Minimum permitted filtration efficiency 99.9%
Suitable for collecting dusts with an occupational exposure limit of greater than or equal to 0.1 mg/m3

H      Minimum permitted filtration efficiency 99.995%
Suitable for collecting dusts with an occupational exposure limit of less than 0.1 mg/m3

The selection of the vacuum cleaner is based on the occupational exposure limit of the product being collected.
www.hse.gov.uk/coshh/table1.pdf Gives the legally binding product occupational exposure limit for the UK.
Every BVC type H vacuum cleaner has its filtration system tested and certified by a specialist contractor and can be used for any of the above applications.
