Many machines in the BVC range are available as type H for handling dusts that are hazardous to health such as Asbestos and Silica.
A type H vacuum cleaner is designed to collect dusts that are hazardous to health and prevent these dusts returning to the atmosphere. The Type H has the best filtration performance of any vacuum cleaner classification given in BS EN 60335-2-69
The classifications (L, M & H) filtration levels and applications are as follows :-
L Minimum permitted filtration efficiency 99%
Suitable for collecting dusts with an occupational exposure limit of greater than 1 mg/m3
M Minimum permitted filtration efficiency 99.9%
Suitable for collecting dusts with an occupational exposure limit of greater than or equal to 0.1 mg/m3
H Minimum permitted filtration efficiency 99.995%
Suitable for collecting dusts with an occupational exposure limit of less than 0.1 mg/m3
The selection of the vacuum cleaner is based on the occupational exposure limit of the product being collected.
